Donatella Fiacchino Psychologist and Clinical Sexologist

My name is Donatella, I am a Psychologist and a Clinical Sexologist. I offer my services to private clients and companies.

I studied and worked in 3 different European Countries. I have a background in research and throughout my academic and work experience I have gained transferable skills across different sectors, from neuroscience to sexuality, Diversity & Inclusion, Non Violent Communication and coaching, that I apply in my clinical work, in consultancy and in the trainings I offer.

What Do I Do

As a freelancer and private practitioner I offer counseling and psychological support, psychosexual counseling sessions to individuals, couples and polycules.

I offer workshops and classes on different themes: di sex education, menstrual health, Non Violent Communication and Self-Compassion.

I offer scientific consultancy, sensitivity reading, content creation for social media, multimedia project and ad campaigns.

I am a podcaster and I collaborate with an Italian online radio.

My Academics

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from Leiden University in The Netherlands. While studying I also worked for many years in research scientifica in different teams at the University of Leiden, Sapienza University of Rome, Florence University, and at the Italian Institute of Technology.

I then decided to also work in the clinical field, gaining more skills with a Professional Postgrad Course in Clinical Sexology and I got certified as a Clinical Psychologist in Italy.

Meanwhile I deepened my knowledge studying Marshall Rosenberg’s Non Violent Communication and Assertive Communication skills. I constantly follow different professional trainings on, among others, LGBTQAI+ themes, counseling with domestic violence victims, Mindful Self-Compassion, and more.

My approach

I worked in scientific research in The Netherlands and later on in Italy. At the moment I live between Rome and Barcelona. In my work I have an evidence-based approach, meaning that I only offer services based on the most recent scientific literature. I only use valid and reliable tools and techniques that have proved in research to be effective.

In my clinical work I have an integrative approach in which I combine cognitive behavioral techniques, strategic relational tools and sex therapy. My skills allow me to support people in their different phases of their lives who are facing difficult moments, major changes, stress, anxiety, relationship problems, sexual issues or psychological discomfort. Both in my clinical work and in consultancy and traning I have an inclusive, empathetic and non-judgmental approach.
